Mobility rentals for your fair or festival, run by our crew

Run a fair, market or festival in North Carolina or beyond? We bring the scooters, wheelchairs and strollers, the staff and the tent, and run the rentals on site.

What we bring

Fleet, staff, tent and gates.

You give your guests a way to get around. We handle the equipment and the people.

  • Fleet

    Our own equipment

Electric scooters, push wheelchairs in multiple sizes, single and double strollers, and CuddleCars at selected events.

  • Staff

    A trained crew

We train every crew member on the equipment, the event and the rental before they work a gate.

  • Tent

    A rental point on site

A rental tent, booth or kiosk where your guests arrive, with a sign so they find us.

  • Gate system

    More than one entrance

On large grounds we staff several gates around one main tent. At the NC State Fair that was Gates 1, 8, 9 and 10, with the main tent at Gate 10.

Four steps, from first call to last return.

  1. Tell us about your event

Send the form or call. Share the event name, the place, the dates and the crowd you expect.

  2. We plan it with you

Together we agree where the rental points go, the equipment mix and the hours.

  3. We set up and staff it

Our crew brings the equipment, sets up the tent and runs the rentals through the event.

  4. Guests ride, we handle the rest

Guests pick up and return at our tent. Our crew answers their questions on the day.

The gate system we bring.

Our gates run on Hitchpost, rental software that began as our own gate system. It ran our gates at the 2026 NC State Fair and at Raleigh Wide Open 2026.

The record, all gates

No signal. Still saving.

Sample data. Made-up lines that show how a gate record reads. Not a real rental.

For your event, the gates keep going at the busiest hour, and every unit, deposit and drawer is on record.

  • Keeps renting with no signal

When the fairground signal drops, each gate tablet keeps renting and saves every rental. The office catches up as soon as it reconnects.

  • One record, no quiet changes

Every rental, deposit and cash drawer goes in one record. A saved line is never edited. A fix is added as a new line, so the first one stays.

  • Licenses and keys by box

A license or keys left at the gate are logged with the numbered box they went into, so staff hand back the right one.

  • Cards on the reader, deposits held

The tablet sends the amount to a card reader and the guest taps there. A deposit can be held on the card and let go when the unit comes back in good order.

  • Drawers that balance each night

Each drawer closes with the expected cash and the difference. On a run of event days, every morning starts from the same record.

  • Returns at any gate

A unit rented at one gate can come back at another. Every gate sees the same units and the same bookings.

  • A live board for the office

Every unit and every gate updates as rentals happen. A unit that is not back shows as overdue.

  • Details filled in while they wait

Guests can enter their details on their own phone in line. At the gate, a short code brings the rental up ready to go.

Hitchpost is made by Firmkit, a software company in Cary, North Carolina.
