High Point Market on Foot: Shuttles and Rest Stops

Getting around High Point Market on foot: the 13-block footprint, free shuttles, accessible Park & Ride, places to rest and where to rent a scooter.

Updated

High Point Market is a lot of walking. Showrooms spread across downtown High Point, and a full day can mean many buildings and many blocks. A little planning helps you save your energy for the buying.

This guide pulls together what High Point Market publishes about its footprint, shuttles and places to rest. Details are from the Fall 2026 pages. Check the Market's site again before your next visit.

How big is the Market?

High Point Market says it covers 13 city blocks. It groups the showrooms into seven neighborhoods:

  1. Commerce Concourse. Home to the Transportation Terminal, where all shuttles arrive and depart, plus the IHFC building, the Showplace building and Center Stage.
  2. Hamilton Wrenn North.
  3. North Elm. The Market calls it a walkable neighborhood.
  4. Market Square & Elm. Includes the Suites at Market Square and Market Square Tower.
  5. Russell & Green.
  6. Downtown Main. Anchored by IHFC Main, with National Furniture Mart, Furniture Plaza and Plaza Suites across the street.
  7. Centennial Wrenn South. Includes Market On Green, the Home Fashions Resource Center and four Center Point buildings.

The Market's site has a downloadable map of the neighborhoods and shuttle routes. Physical maps and guidebooks are at the information booths and registration desks during Market.

Plan your day by neighborhood

The easiest way to cut down on walking is to group your appointments.

  • List your showrooms first. Note which neighborhood each one is in.
  • Do one neighborhood at a time. Finish one area before you move to the next.
  • Ride between neighborhoods. Save your walking for inside the buildings.
  • Start near the Terminal. Commerce Concourse is the shuttle hub, so it is a natural place to begin and end the day.

Shuttles

High Point Market runs free shuttles during Market. For Fall 2026, its transportation page listed:

  • Red and Green line shuttles. These run in a continuous loop through the downtown showroom district and serve every Market building, showroom and event.
  • Shuttle stops by neighborhood. The Neighborhoods page lists the stop numbers for each area. For example, Commerce Concourse is served by Green Line stops 1, 2 and 6 and Red Line stops 1, 15 and 16.
  • Go-Anywhere shuttles. Free rides to places within a 6-mile radius of the Transportation Terminal that are not on a downtown route. Go to the Terminal or call 336.887.RIDE (7433).
  • Hotel and airport shuttles. Routes connect the Terminal with hotels in the area and with the GSO, RDU and CLT airports. RDU and CLT runs need a reservation.

Shuttle hours change on the last day of Market. In Fall 2026, downtown shuttles ran on call on the final Wednesday. Check the current schedule before you plan your last day.

Parking and the accessible shuttle

If you drive, the Market's Park & Ride is at 921 Eastchester Dr., High Point. The Market says:

  • Accessible parking is available at the Park & Ride.
  • The Park & Ride service is free, with continuous shuttles to the downtown Transportation Terminal.
  • Guests with disabilities may call 336.887.RIDE for an accessible shuttle from the Park & Ride lot to the Transportation Terminal.

Where to rest

Plan your breaks the same way you plan your appointments. The Market lists two places to sit down:

  • International Buyers Center. Located in the High Point Theatre, with a lounge area for relaxation. In Fall 2026 it was open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday through Tuesday, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the final Wednesday.
  • Congdon Yards in North Elm. The Market describes it as a spot with coffee, free Wi-Fi and a place to relax. North Elm also has the Stock + Grain Assembly food hall.

A few habits that help on long days:

  • Sit down for a few minutes between buildings, not only at lunch.
  • Carry water and a light bag. Less weight means less fatigue.
  • Wear shoes you have already broken in.

Ride instead of walk

If the blocks add up, a mobility scooter or a push wheelchair can help. High Point Market's planning page notes that mobility scooters and wheelchairs are available for rent during Market, and it lists us as the provider.

In 2026 our rentals ran daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during Market. Our scooters have a maximum passenger weight of 400 lbs, and only the person named on the rental may ride. Our staff do not lift or transfer guests.

Our High Point Market page has the pickup spot, what to bring and how it worked in 2026. Learn more about our mobility scooters and wheelchairs, or see all events where we set up.
